What to expect · Leaf raking

Leaf raking: what done looks like.

The lawn and the hard surfaces are clear of leaves, the bags are tied and stacked where the customer asked, and the yard looks like somebody cared.

The standard

This page is the same one the crew is trained on.

Every crew member reads a guide for leaf raking, passes a test on it, and ticks a checklist on their phone while they work. Our team reviews their before and after photos against this standard before your card is charged. Here it is, so you can hold us to it.

Done means

  • No leaf drifts along fences or under shrubs.
  • Walk, steps and drive swept, not just the lawn.
  • Bags tied, upright, in the spot the customer chose, not on the lawn.
  • Gates closed, hoses and toys where they were.
The crew's checklist
  • Lawn clear of leaves
  • Walkways, patio and driveway swept
  • Bags tied and stacked in the spot the customer chose
  • Gates closed as found
Not part of this job
haul-away, gutters, roofs, anything that needs a ladder or gas equipment, tree or shrub work, cutting plants back (that's Garden bed put-to-bed).
Typical time
About 1 hr 30 min for a typical yard

Not good, and good.

In each picture the left side is what our team sends back, and the right side is what you should see when the crew leaves.

How the day goes, step by step, is on the leaf raking service page; this page is the standard the crew is held to.

Before we arrive

What you have ready.

  • Bags your pickup accepts (paper yard bags, or whatever your hauler takes), left at the bag spot you chose. Plan on more than you think; the crew brings a few spares.
  • Toys, hoses and furniture off the lawn if you can; the crew moves what's light.
  • Gate unlocked, dogs inside for the visit.
  • Sprinklers off that morning.

The crew brings: Rakes, gloves, spare bags, tarp, and a battery blower only if you allowed one.

Reminders
This list is on your booking page, in your booking email, and in a note the day before the visit.
Crew age
16 and over, tested on this job.
Weather
Snow buries leaves and rain mats them. If either is forecast for your day we move the visit, usually by two or three days, and email you the evening before. Nothing is charged until the work is done.
Something not ready?
Reply to any of our emails and we'll move the visit. Nothing is charged until the job is done.

That's the whole standard.

No fine print. If what you see doesn't match this page, say so within 24 hours and our team sends the crew back, adjusts the price or refunds.

Seasons is new. We expect most jobs to be claimed by a local crew member within a day or two of booking and to happen as planned, but some won't be. Some don't: nobody claims the job, weather stops it, or the crew member who claimed it gets sick, and another crew member may not be free to pick it up. When that happens we email you, nothing is charged, and you can rebook in one click or walk away. We'd rather say that plainly than promise what a small crew can't.
