What to expect · Watering while you're away

Watering while you're away: what done looks like.

The pots, planters and beds on the list are watered on each visit, with a photo each time so the customer knows it happened.

The standard

This page is the same one the crew is trained on.

Every crew member reads a guide for watering while you're away, passes a test on it, and ticks a checklist on their phone while they work. Our team reviews their before and after photos against this standard before your card is charged. Here it is, so you can hold us to it.

Done means

  • Soil dark and damp, not puddled.
  • Hose coiled, spigot off.
The crew's checklist
  • Work area clear and tidy
  • Bags tied and at the curb
  • Gates closed as found
Not part of this job
lawns (your sprinklers do that), indoor plants, pets.
Typical time
About 30 min for a typical yard

In pictures

Not good, and good.

In each picture the left side is what our team sends back, and the right side is what you should see when the crew leaves.

How the day goes, step by step, is on the watering while you're away service page; this page is the standard the crew is held to.

Before we arrive

What you have ready.

  • Hose connected and working, spigot on, and a watering can if there are pots the hose can't reach.
  • A note or a few photos of what gets watered and roughly how long. Tape it to the spigot or put it in the booking notes.
  • Gate unlocked. Nobody needs to be home.

The crew brings: Just the app: a photo of the beds and pots at every visit so you can see it happened.

Reminders
This list is on your booking page, in your booking email, and in a note the day before the visit.
Crew age
16 and over, tested on this job.
Weather
Rain doesn't cancel a watering visit; the crew checks the pots and skips what's already wet, and you still get the photo.
Something not ready?
Reply to any of our emails and we'll move the visit. Nothing is charged until the job is done.

That's the whole standard.

No fine print. If what you see doesn't match this page, say so within 24 hours and our team sends the crew back, adjusts the price or refunds.

Seasons is new. We expect most jobs to be claimed by a local crew member within a day or two of booking and to happen as planned, but some won't be. Some don't: nobody claims the job, weather stops it, or the crew member who claimed it gets sick, and another crew member may not be free to pick it up. When that happens we email you, nothing is charged, and you can rebook in one click or walk away. We'd rather say that plainly than promise what a small crew can't.
