What to expect · Outdoor planter planting

Outdoor planter planting: what done looks like.

Their plants are in their planters the way their note or photo shows, at the right depth, firmed in, watered until it runs out the bottom, and the area is swept, with no soil on the porch.

The standard

This page is the same one the crew is trained on.

Every crew member reads a guide for outdoor planter planting, passes a test on it, and ticks a checklist on their phone while they work. Our team reviews their before and after photos against this standard before your card is charged. Here it is, so you can hold us to it.

Done means

  • Every plant in, firmed, watered through.
  • Placement matches the note or photo.
  • No soil on the porch, steps or walk.
The crew's checklist
  • Work area clear and tidy
  • Bags tied and stacked in the spot the customer chose
  • Gates closed as found
Not part of this job
choosing or buying plants and soil, in-ground planting, hanging baskets above shoulder height, hauling old soil.
Typical time
About 45 min for a typical yard

Not good, and good.

In each picture the left side is what our team sends back, and the right side is what you should see when the crew leaves.

How the day goes, step by step, is on the outdoor planter planting service page; this page is the standard the crew is held to.

Before we arrive

What you have ready.

  • The plants, still in their nursery pots, and enough potting mix, set next to the planters. A note or a photo of what goes where.
  • Say whether last year's soil comes out (and where it goes: a bed, a bag, the compost) or gets topped up.
  • Outdoor spigot on with a hose, or a full watering can, for watering in.
  • Dogs inside for the visit.

The crew brings: Trowel, gloves, tarp, bucket. Pots that two people can't lift stay where they are and get planted in place.

Reminders
This list is on your booking page, in your booking email, and in a note the day before the visit.
Crew age
16 and over, tested on this job.
Weather
Planting waits for a day above freezing without rain. We move the visit if needed and email you the evening before.
Something not ready?
Reply to any of our emails and we'll move the visit. Nothing is charged until the job is done.

That's the whole standard.

No fine print. If what you see doesn't match this page, say so within 24 hours and our team sends the crew back, adjusts the price or refunds.

Seasons is new. We expect most jobs to be claimed by a local crew member within a day or two of booking and to happen as planned, but some won't be. Some don't: nobody claims the job, weather stops it, or the crew member who claimed it gets sick, and another crew member may not be free to pick it up. When that happens we email you, nothing is charged, and you can rebook in one click or walk away. We'd rather say that plainly than promise what a small crew can't.
