What to expect · Mulch spreading

Mulch spreading: what done looks like.

Their mulch is spread evenly, 2–3 inches deep, pulled back from stems and siding, with no bare patches and no pile left over.

The standard

This page is the same one the crew is trained on.

Every crew member reads a guide for mulch spreading, passes a test on it, and ticks a checklist on their phone while they work. Our team reviews their before and after photos against this standard before your card is charged. Here it is, so you can hold us to it.

Done means

  • Even depth, no mounds against stems.
  • No mulch on the lawn or walks.
  • Pile gone.
The crew's checklist
  • Work area clear and tidy
  • Bags tied and at the curb

Not good, and good.

In each picture the left side is what our team sends back, and the right side is what you should see when the crew leaves.

How the day goes, step by step, is on the mulch spreading service page; this page is the standard the crew is held to.

Before we arrive

What you have ready.

  • The mulch itself, delivered as a pile or bought in bags, in the driveway or next to the beds.
  • A wheelbarrow if it's a pile. Without one the crew can only spread bagged mulch.
  • A note on depth (two to three inches is normal) and anywhere it shouldn't go.
  • Gate unlocked, dogs inside for the visit.
  • Sprinklers off that morning.

The crew brings: Rake, gloves, buckets. The crew spreads; it doesn't haul from the street.

Reminders
This list is on your booking page, in your booking email, and in a note the day before the visit.
Crew age
16 and over, tested on this job.
Weather
Mulch doesn't spread in rain or over snow. We move the visit if needed and email you the evening before.
Something not ready?
Reply to any of our emails and we'll move the visit. Nothing is charged until the job is done.

That's the whole standard.

No fine print. If what you see doesn't match this page, say so within 24 hours and our team sends the crew back, adjusts the price or refunds.

Seasons is new. We expect most jobs to be claimed by a local crew member within a day or two of booking and to happen as planned, but some won't be. Some don't: nobody claims the job, weather stops it, or the crew member who claimed it gets sick, and another crew member may not be free to pick it up. When that happens we email you, nothing is charged, and you can rebook in one click or walk away. We'd rather say that plainly than promise what a small crew can't.
